The Emerging Scholars Conference (ESC)  is a countywide, back-to-school event for high school students in Durham County, NC. The first conference was organized and held in 2012.

 

ESC is the primary activity of The Future Leaders Institute (FLI). This one-day learning event is hosted each year by FLI and is designed to include career and personal development speakers and motivational sessions that promote the value of academics. This one (1) day conference is provided to youth and their parents and includes: special guests, a keynote speaker, conference exhibitors, and various workshops.

 

The goal of ESC is to get students excited about going back to, succeeding in, and graduating from high school.
